H1 AboutMe

My name is Keith Hart and for almost as long as I can remember photos have been important to me. I got my first camera when I was 5 as a present from my parents when I was in St. Mary’s hospital in Paddington. Since then I can’t remember not wanting to take photos wherever I went.

My father was a good photographer and always shot 35mm slides. I’m sure that seeing pictures projected on a screen 4x3 feet in size really taught me things about focus and visual impact that have stayed with me ever since.

Certainly in those early days I remember shooting film and waiting what seemed to be weeks for the yellow envelopes to arrive back from Kodak. Of course I’m all digital these days ... it really is great to be able to get immediate feedback on what you are doing, fix the problems and get the shot you want ... in fact is better than great ... its addictive!

For a long while I have taken photos on holiday and when we are with family, I have always been disappointed with photos taken with on camera flash ... other people think they’re great ... but the perfectionist in me long knew that things could be better.

But now I understand studio lighting, the feeling of being in total control ... it’s intoxicating ... and I’m totally hooked.  That is why I have decided to do this as a career ... there’s no point finding something you love and not having any time to do it.
